LEO, I would advise a phonecall to one of the breastfeeding helplines. Sometimes breastfed babies appear to be losing weight when in fact they are just naturally "catching down". It is normal for the rate of their weight gain to slow down as time goes by, but I'm not qualified to say whether your baby's weight change is within normal limits or not. Unfortunately many health visitors have less training about feeding than we might hope so with breast feeding matters it's often best to seek more specialised advice. You might not have to use formula after all. I'm not able to advise you on weights and intakes and things but a breast feeding counsellor will be able to do that. I know Dr Gray's has a baby feeding adviser who you may be able to contact through this website. Otherwise, the NCT, ABM, BFN and La Leche League all offer excellent telephone advice lines
